What: A benefit for Malcolm Smart and Rinky Roadshow
When: Sunday June 10th. 5 pm - 11 pm
Where: The Low Beat, 335 Central Avenue, Albany, NY
My friends have insisted on putting on an art show auction and benefit concert to raise a little cash to help Malcolm with his costs while he's undergoing his first series of chemo. (Yeah, Malcolm believes in natural healing, but also that there's a time to turn to more medicine-based treatment, and this is one of those times.)
I cannot express how grateful I am to have such a marvelous community around me, and the way they are rallying at this time is very touching. Who knew I was loved so much? And I love you back.
- Megan the Runt (Albany)
- Nick Shattell (Albany & Philly)
- The Alex Brooks Band (Albany)
- Cataldi's Spaghetti Eastern (NYC and Hudson Valley)
- Ole Rinky Himself Malcolm Smart (NYC and Hudson Valley)
- Frank's Musem Project (Brooklyn, Easton, PA and Albany)
- Triya Love (Albany)
This is followed by the silent art auction, featuring gorgeous artwork by local artists.
The show will feature a a RARE performance by Frank Museum Project, featuring Frank Ruscitti, Sal Cataldi, Dave Donen and Malcolm Smart.
Frank Museum Project is the 2018 version of the incomparable Frank's Museum, one of Brookly's best EVER original rocks bands, the best description of which was 'the Beatles meets the Sex Pistols'. All original songs, mostly written by Frank, the songs are funny, punky and memorable. And Frank has to be one of rock's greatest front-men ever.
It's going to be epic. See you at the Low Beat.
